Basil-Stuffed Steak

Serves: 6-8


Ingredients
2 to 1/2 pounds Sirloin steak
1/2 teaspoon Salt
1/4 teaspoon Pepper
1/4 teaspoon Dried parsley
1 1/2 cups Fresh basil leaves (chopped)
1/4 cup Onion (finely chopped)
4 cloves Garlic
1 1/2 teaspoons Fresh rosemary (minced)
1/8 teaspoon Fresh thyme (minced)
1 teaspoon Olive oil

Step by Step Instructions
  1. Make 5 lengthwise cuts 3/4ths of the way through the steak with a sharp kife. Mix the parsley, salt, and pepper together and then rub the combination over the steak.
  2. Mix the basil, onion, garlic, rosemary and thyme together in a small bowl, then stuff the herb mixture into the slits in the steak.
  3. Tie the cuts closed with heavy-duty cooking string in 2 inch intervals, then drizzle the closed steak with oil.
  4. Grill the steak covered over indirect medium heat for 35-45 minutes or bake uncovered at 400 degrees
  5. Cover and let stand for 5 to 10 minutes, then remove the string and slice.
